"This piece is pure imagination. But it is drawn from memories of my childhood visits to the Appalachian Mountains, and the hollers and softly moving rivers that create little places of real solitude. Unlike the rolling oceans, or the majestic rivers, or the big lake waters, these small rills, and seeping trails of water bring a sense of solitude that is very healing. Here is the quiet flow of a river that has found a broad bend. Where the mountains step back a pace and give it a bit of elbow room, the water comes to rest and creates a quiet that is a living thing. At night, the stillness is monumental, and includes with it the mountains and the heavens that peek down through the soft rolling hills.
