This is no doubt the finest example of plunderphonic / culture jamming / radiophonic / cut-up / whatever you want to call it. Just don't expect music, because that's not the point. Although there is a surprising amount of music here, even some that is well recorded. Because that too denies expectation.

Most Negativland albums are experimental radio programmes, didactic comedic demonstrations of suburbia's malaise. Some of these show great inventiveness, but they are not likely to appeal to any but the most stalwart of experimental sound fanatics.

There's nothing wrong with a bit more polish, editing, and distillation. While it won't be mistaken as commercial, Escape From Noise is the most accessible of Negativland's records. Try this one. If you don't like it, you may as well forget listening to any of their other numerous releases.
