Bartok (1881-1945)
Description:
Bartók's violin works are well known as unaccompanied works, but the "Sonata for Piano and Violin" is said to be "a work in which Bartók felt a certain satisfaction in incorporating the language of folk songs into his own work. The fluent piano part, of course, and the sometimes humorous, sometimes harsh music sung by the violin, which makes full use of its superb technique, are certainly unique. Performed by Becker-Bender (violin), active mainly in Germany, and Peter Naji (piano), active worldwide as a soloist and collaborator. 2013 recording. (C)RS Naxos Japan
