Okan Yoruba
Description:
Santelía is a music with its roots in the religious songs of the Yoruba tribe in Africa, which has continued to support the expressive Afro-Cuban music from mambo to salsa, rumba, Cuban jazz, and Latin jazz from the very roots up. The second recording of Okan Yoruba, a performance group led by Angel Bolaños, a leading figure of the Yoruba tribe, contains Oru Igbodu (Oru Igbodu), which is played at the beginning of the ritual and dedicated without singing or dancing, but only to the rhythm of three double-sided taicos and bata. This is a valuable album that has not been heard in recorded form before.
