Description:

Enjoy a vibrant large display on your classic game boy DMG-01 with the Q5 RIPS V4 OSD screen mod kit.

The pack includes the LCD panel, driver board, connecting ribbons and button board.

Once installed you can enjoy several enhancements build into the screen including.

Modern backlit LCD, 8 different colour modes (all adjustable), OSD menu controls and a retro pixels effect mode to make your screen look like old tech whilst being able to enjoy the brightness of the Q5 LCD.

NOTE:

You will need to solder the speaker to the button board provided with the kit, this is the only soldering required.

In addition to soldering you will also need a housing shell (IPS ready shell or modify your own) with a modified screen lens and a centering bracket to install this kit.

This version of rips kit provides the an 11% larger display, meaning that a standard screen lens will obscure a small part of a picture, the lens needs to be swapped out with a IPS compatible one.

Items needed which are not included: Modified console housing, IPS screen lens, centering bracket, basic tools to fit this screen, soldering iron, non of these items are included.

To install this upgrade you will need to modify the console housing slightly, which you can do yourself by cutting your own shell to make the room for the LCD.

You will need to have some patience and good electronics skills to fit this kit.

Please note that the LCD screen and ribbon cable require care to install and are fragile in nature, they are also more susceptible to damage once installed if the console is dropped, LCD screens can crack under pressure or with a impact, our warranty does not cover accidental / user damage of any components in this kit. Replacement parts will be available to purchase separately in the near future.
