Description:
John Cage (1912-92), who proposed "Silence to be Heard" in his "4'33"" (1952), which consists of three movements. Prior to this, in 1938, he invented the prepared piano for dance music. The "Sonatas and Interludes" composed for this "instrument" between 1946 and 1948 is a masterpiece of Cage's music that is full of the most dynamic feeling and also constructs an extremely delicate acoustic space. Tomomiki Kitamura's performance and prepares transformed a Steinway manufactured in 1956 into a "color instrument," and the "bells" with their continuous five-degree resonance secretly evoke the composer's dream. Cage fell in love with Grieg during his piano studies and dreamed of devoting his life solely to performing his works. A remarkable work in the history of keyboard CDs! (C)RS
