Description:
Born in Scotland, guitarist Akers began studying guitar at age 10. He discovered his fascination with the lute while in college, and went on to further his theorbo studies at Trinity College, where he studied with Paul Odette and Yvonne Kenny and explored a wide range of music from the 16th to 19th centuries. Ackers, who has performed as a soloist around the world, makes her debut on the resonus label with a collection of Scottish folk songs by 19th century composers. Akers carefully performs these charming works, which use folk songs that have been familiar to her since childhood. Naxos Japan
