DESCRIPTION

The QHY5L-II Colour camera kit is an advanced CMOS camera system used mainly for Planetary imaging applications, which can also be used for Auto-Guiding and basic Deep Sky imaging as well as Video Astronomy (Electronic Observing) – all with the software provided!

Unlike older CMOS technologies the QHY5L-II has no fixed pattern noise, and there’s no random horizontal noise.

This camera has high FPS performance: up to 200 fps @ 320 x 240 with a quantum efficiency (QE) of 63%.

The camera is sold as a kit in a handy storage box with USB & ST4 Cables, 1.25″ Extension (threaded for filters), 1.25″ Parfocalizing Ring. The latest drivers and software can be downloaded from the QHYCCD website. Linux and Mac OS support is present and evolving rapidly.

The camera is directly supported by PHD, MetaGuide, Firecapture, SharpCap, and software using the ASCOM platform.

UFOCapture and HandyAvi can even capture images of meteor trails automatically, while you sleep!
