Jörg Dames is a pianist who, together with Paul Badura-Skoda and Friedrich Gulda, was known as the "Vienna Three Crows. This album includes his activities as a chamber musician. And not only was Dames an excellent pianist, but he also left several works as a composer. However, he composed only in his later years, and these works, which combine the Viennese tradition with the French Impressionist style, were released only to his close friends, and none of them has been performed very often. The three Dames pieces on this album are richly colored music that celebrates nature and has an irresistible appeal to the listener. All of the works are played by the young violinist Irnberger from Salzburg. He is a trusted friend of Dames and has performed with him on many occasions in addition to the pieces on this album, and his performances are superb. Naxos Japan
