Description:
The live recording of Academy Award-winning music and other film music works arranged and conducted by master composer Desplat himself for Payu's flute is now available exclusively on analog LP! The opera was premiered in Japan in January 2020 to great acclaim and the music was written by film composer Alexandre Desplat, who won Academy Awards for "The Grand Budapest Hotel" (2014) and "The Shape of Water" (2017) and is considered one of the best film composers of our time. Desplat is considered one of the best film music composers of our time. He plays a major role in this album, this time arranging his own works for flute and orchestra for Emmanuelle Pajou and personally conducting the Orchestre National de France. The album, entitled "Airlines," includes the two aforementioned works as well as original compositions that "evoke images in your mind as if you were watching a movie. For example, Debussy, Fauré, Sibelius, Schoenberg, and others have written thoughtful music for Maeterlinck's masterpiece "Pelleas et Melisande," but Desplat has written beautiful music that seems to surpass these as a concerto symphony for flute. Each piece is written so that the flute, which Desplat cites as his "most beloved instrument," has a large presence throughout, and Payu responds to this with a superb collaboration. The CD will be released at the same time as the imported CD, and will be a completely limited pressing. Please note that one of the songs on the CD, "Thorns of Memory," is not included on this LP edition. Warner Music Japan
