John Coltrane, one of the most charismatic saxophonists in jazz history, led the Golden Quartet in 1964 and recorded this recording for a Canadian film, and now, 55 years after its recording, it is finally released! The golden quartet recorded the film "Le chat dans le sac ("The Cat in the Bag")" in June 1964 at Rudy Van Gelder Studios, commissioned by the National Film Board of Canada. The five recorded tracks (eight takes in all) were all re-recordings of Coltrane's original compositions, and for a long time fans did not know that they had been re-recorded for the film. Now, all of the recorded recordings have been compiled in full version and released for the first time in the world.
