Steelgrip 27E-24 is a hook-style mechanical belt fastener for light-duty conveyor and power-transmission belt splicing. Also called alligator lacing, Steelgrip is a continuous one-piece fastener strip with teeth that embed lengthwise into the belt carcass and connect at the splice with a removable corrugated hinge pin. The teeth are shaped to divide, not sever, the longitudinal carcass fibers.
