Second, it skives (thins down) one or both belt ends to a uniform thickness, which is required for the splice to seat properly with mechanical fasteners or hot vulcanizing.

How to use: Position the belt under the cutter with proper alignment. Set the depth (for skiving) or full-cut blade (for cutting). Push the cutter handle along the 54-inch rail in a single smooth motion. The guide rail keeps the cut straight and the depth uniform across the entire belt width.

When to use: Required for any field belt splicing job. Typical applications include conveyor belt repair at quarries, mines, plants, and construction sites where vulcanizing equipment is unavailable or impractical. Also used in shop environments before sending repaired belts back to the field.
