Widely regarded as one of the most important and groundbreaking British albums of all time, the Rough Mixes* of The Slits / "Cut", released in 1979, are now available on analog for the first time! The mixes, by pioneering producer Dennis Bovell, include another version of "Cut" as well as a cover of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine". Bovell's excellent early mix shines, packing a raw punch that rivals the version that was eventually released as "Cut". *Note: Since the rough mix of "Spend, Spend, Spend" does not exist in the Island Records archives, this release instead features the band's original 8-track demo.
