A slide cap (Style 1 in the images) has a closed top with an integrated mounting eye, making it ideal for end-of-rail applications where you need to attach a strap or a top connection. A slide sleeve (Style 2) is open on both ends and sits in the middle of a rail section, often used to join or support rails where a side attachment is needed. Both use a set screw to secure them to the tube.
Measure the outer diameter (OD) of your existing railing tube. Our fittings are available in standard sizes: 20mm, 22mm, 25mm, 30mm, and 32mm. For example, if your tube measures 25mm, select the 25mm slide cap or sleeve. Using the right size ensures a tight, secure fit and prevents movement or rattling.
The standard top-mount base (Style 3) has a fixed bracket that holds the rail upright. It is secured with a through-bolt or screw. The pin mount base (Style 4) features a quick-release pin system, allowing you to easily detach the rail from the base without undoing bolts. This is very convenient for folding canopy systems or applications where you need to remove the framework quickly.
Yes, for the top mount and pin mount bases, you will need to drill pilot holes and secure them with screws or bolts. For the slide caps and sleeves, you will need to drill a small pilot hole into your rail tube before installing the set screw. We recommend using marine-grade sealant on all holes to ensure a watertight seal.
The bolt clamps come with the stainless steel clamping tube and the required stainless steel bolt and nut for tightening. They do not include mounting screws for the base, as you will need to select the appropriate length for your deck thickness. The base of the clamp is pre-drilled for standard marine fasteners.
