Description:
Paul Weller is one of the leading musicians in the current British rock scene. In the 1980s, he formed The Style Council, a band that skillfully incorporated the essence of R&B and gained new fans, and after the breakup of the group, he energetically pursued his career as a solo artist, remaining at the forefront of the British music scene. The Jam gained a strong following in the punk rock movement of the late 1970s with their new wave sound that leaned towards a mod sound. The Jam's albums sold better with each release, and their November 1979 album "Setting Sons" charted at No. 4 in the UK Albums Chart and was the first album to chart in the US (No. 137). After the album's release, the band toured the U.K. and Europe, and in July 1980 made its first visit to Japan as part of the "Setting Sons Tour. The final day of the concert, July 8 at the Nippon Seinenkan Hall in Tokyo, was recorded and broadcast as a special program on an FM station. This live album contains the complete set list of the day's concert, including cover songs and encores, and provides a complete picture of the concert. The Jam's live performance, influenced by the Sex Pistols but incorporating mod and R&B sounds, was enthusiastically received in Japan, and this is a valuable archive of that experience!
