The latest offering from the Swoosh updates the sneaker’s breathable FlyKnit upper (which is at the center of a recent lawsuit against both New Balance and Sketchers) in a “Light Olive” hue. Darker shades of the fall-friendly colour appears in the form of profile swooshes, as well as synthetic reinforcement at the tip of the toe and around the lower heel. The eyebrow-raising Nike VaporMax unit underfoot deviates from the upper, preferring a much bolder “Barely Volt” makeover. Together, the breathable top-half and plush bottom create a futuristic take on Tinker Hatfield’s Air Max revolution from 1987.
