This Mt. St. Helens 3D wood map, part of my Cascade Mountain series, captures the essence of the most active volcano in the range. Famous for its massive May 18, 1980 eruption, this model is a tribute to the peak’s history and current landscape.
Featuring 5,600’ of elevation across 109 square miles, the model is oriented vertically to showcase the northern side of the peak, landslide, and Spirit Lake. There’s also other fine details like major trail systems, including the Loowit trail circling the peak, and both major summit routes, Monitor Ridge and Worm Flows (the winter route).
Both the 10x8 & 20x15 sizes feature 15 layers of 1/8” baltic birch plywood each representing 400’ of elevation (1:39,087 scale). The unframed 10x10" map features the top 3,600' of the mountain across 9 layers.
