Since its premiere in 2011, "Alice in Wonderland" has been popular with ballet fans and beginners alike. The original story by Lewis Carroll has been made into a superb entertainment by popular British choreographer Christopher Wheeldon. When the ballet premiered, it was a two-act ballet, and the images released to date have been of this version. The following season, however, the ballet was revised to a three-act version, which meant that the video version was slightly different when viewed after the performance, but this release resolves that issue. It is especially pleasing to see the impressive pas de deux of Alice and Jack. The lead role of Alice is, of course, played by Lauren Cuthbertson, who also played the title role in the premiere. The other performers have been replaced since the first performance, but the choreography incorporating contemporary dance, brilliant tap dancing, and other popular elements of the work have been retained, while the stage has been scaled up to provide an even more exciting experience for all who see it.
