Description:

Idylle Billette made her first recording at the ORTF studio in Paris in November 1949 at the age of eight. Since then, she has performed and recorded everything from classical to contemporary works. The two pieces with orchestra recorded with Franck in 2005 show Billette's strength in competing with the orchestra on equal footing. The latter two solo pieces were recorded in 2017. Billett's performance of Frank's late masterpieces, with their complex counterpoints and sober but deep flavors, is full of compassion as he reflects on his own long life as a performer. Naxos Japan
