Leila Chaillet, a violinist of the new generation of classical music, studied with Chiara Banchini at the Schola Cantorum Basel (SCB), the headquarters of classical music in Switzerland, and since 2010 she has been teaching baroque violin at the SCB herself. A member of Chiara Banchini's "Ensemble 415" and first violinist in Bonizzoni's "La Risonanza," Leila Chaillet's fourth Glossa recording is a Brahms. The complete set of violin sonatas, including the "Allegro (Scherzo) from the FAE Sonata"! Chaillet, who has expanded his repertoire beyond baroque to include classical and romantic period playing, plays a replica of the Romantic model violin, and German pianist Jan Schulz plays the original 1879 Streicher piano, aiming for the original colors envisioned by the composer.
