Blissful Solitude invites you to explore the space between peace and energy, creating a story in your head as to where the lonely boat may we going and who sits upon it. Being alone can be blissful and this atmospheric seascape explored that bliss. 

The seascape is based initially on my local coastline of Formby however it began to take really shape when I painted intuitively, allowing the brush and my imagination and memory to take control. Therefore the painted is reflective of a real place but simultaneously explores memory and the feeling of a place depending on where, as an artist, I was in the present moment of painting it.
