When art therapist Michaela Spreider began painting animals after the death of her cat, she had no idea of the power that lay within her. By looking closely and painting mindfully and in great detail, she almost felt as if she were encountering the animals directly. This inner process resulted in twelve touching portraits, each painted with great care and dedication, vivid in colour and fine in detail. This is a calendar about looking, about closeness and the silent connection between humans and animals. Born out of grief, it grew into a passion.
