Just the sort of seascape I could stare at all day, almost as good as staring out at the sea itself! The green of the water as it reaches the shore is all the richer and lusher in person, just radiant, and with the gray clouds moving in overhead and rocky island near center, the whole thing is wonderfully moody and atmospheric. Very well done and quite striking.

14 3/4” x 9 3/16”, oil on board, initialed JC for James Coad at lower right. I've found a few auction records for landscapes by Coad, who was British, active it seems in the 1920s-30s.
