Inspired by the wonderful work of American designer Walter Nichols - who created a new pictorial approach to rug design in the 1920s by introducing beautiful bright silks to traditional Chinese rugs – Life Force is a celebration of spring and summer’s vibrant colour and energy.

Her vivid design grows around a golden pine tree rising from mountains and set against a backdrop of summer-blue sky. The slim pine with delicate fan-shaped branches is surrounded by pretty peonies, colourful chrysanthemums, and lush foliage, dotted with joyful hummingbirds and beautiful butterflies; all images with positive symbolism.

With an inspiring story of beauty, hope and connection, combined with her life-affirming colours, Life Force is a strong, powerful rug. She has grown from Mother Nature, who is always grounding and inspirational.

Authentic rug-making demands incredible skill, craftsmanship and attention to detail. Wendy Morrison want to protect those skills, to support the artisans who tuft and weave, and bring our designs to life, to explain the history and storytelling behind rug design, and to celebrate and help maintain this centuries-old art.
