Living in the high desert zaps all the moisture out of my skin and my poor fingers get the worst of it with painfully cracked skin. I created this Happy Hands Healing Salve to provide the best healing properties with moisture locking ingredients for our hands (it also works great for feet, cuticles, dry noses and dry skin patches). 

Our miracle worker ingredient is Calendula. This flower is so beneficial for the skin with its soothing and nourishing dry, irritated skin while promoting cell regeneration and wound healing. We harvest these beautiful Calendula flowers right from our own garden and dry them naturally here at the farmhouse then we infuse the flowers with sunflower oil for 6 weeks for maximum strength.

• Apricot Oil with Calendula Flowers - healing Calendula has antimicrobial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties to soothe and nourish dry, irritated skin while promoting cell regeneration and wound healing. Apricot oil is rich in vitamins and fatty acids for soft, supple skin.
• Shea, Mango, Kokum, & Cocoa Butters  - moisturizes, soothes, and protects skin, also been shown to reduce inflammation.
• Avocado Butter - loaded with omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins A, D, and E. The outermost layer of skin, known as the epidermis, easily absorbs these nutrients, which also help to form new skin.
• Vitamin E - has moisturizing and healing benefits, is a natural anti-inflammatory to soothe and calm the skin, and good for hydrating skin.
• Honey - reduces bacteria and speeds the healing process. Honey has an incredible power to care for our skin with its proteins, amino acids, vitamins, and minerals.
• Beeswax - we can't say enough about the amazing qualities of this ingredient! Beeswax conditions, soothes, and calms the skin. Beeswax creates a hydrating, long-lasting protective barrier to protect it against the harsh effects of the elements. Its exfoliating properties combined with its vitamin content helps promote the skin’s regeneration and rejuvenation. Beeswax is known to soothe itchiness and irritation, to nourish, and to soften dry, cracked, broken skin. Its regenerative quality and healing properties work in conjunction to help decrease the irritation, redness, and inflammation characteristic of acne. Beeswax has a similar effect on skin afflicted with eczema and psoriasis, soothing the itchiness and working to prevent further irritation. By promoting the growth of newer skin and by contributing softness, Beeswax leaves the skin feeling renewed. When applied to stretch marks, Beeswax is known to help diminish the appearance of these often-unwanted marks. 
  
• Tallow - this ultra-hydrating ingredient restores moisture and soothes even the driest skin. The healing and protective nature of tallow supports skin recovery from irritation, redness, and minor wounds. Overall, it is great for dry patches, and even minor cuts or burns.
• Lanolin - extremely hydrating and has the ability to soften skin to help improve the appearance and the feel of rough, dry, or flaky areas.
• Apothecary Blend of Essential Oils - proprietary blend of essential oils to help heal and soothe dry, itchy and cracking skin.  The woodsy, herbal aroma is quite grounding and includes oils of: clary sage (soothing and helps with skin regeneration); chamomile (help soothe sensitive skin, reduce inflammation and redness, and aid in healing wounds); guaiacwood (soothing and hydrating); elemi (moisturizing and protecting); cypress (good for those little abrasions your hands may get to help heal the skin with it's antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties); cedarwood (calming and neutralize redness and irritation on the skin); sage (helps soothe dry and irritated skin); patchouli and balsam fir (so many benefits for your skin!).
