Early 19th century Country French Buffet, entirely hand-crafted from old-growth cherry, and accented with brass hinges, hand etched escutcheons with original key and lovely pulls with rosettes. Look closely to see the pegged mortise & tenon joinery, a technique centuries old that has been handed down through the generations. Two spacious drawers at the top had a particular purpose, with flatware and linens. Tailored French style molded detail abounds on the cabinet doors, center stile, and especially the apron, which has been carved at the center with a pediment featuring a hand carved fan, rendered in relief directly into the wood. Raised & recessed side panels ensure this lovely keepsake is attractive from all angles. Note the hand-hewn solid planks that were used to create the back side. Beautifully crafted and grand in stature with abundant storage, the perfect combination of style and function, this buffet will add a touch of French Provincial charm to your home.
