CHARMING antique Ivorex plaque made by Arthur Osborne in the B. Osborne Company in England. This one is of the Burns Cottage, Alloway, Ayr -fabulous for the collector of all things Scottish and Robbie Burns!
Osborne was known to make interesting plaques of buildings and room interiors that were designed with a three dimensional effect, hand painted and then dipped in wax.
This lovely antique Ivorex plaque measures about 6 inches by 9.5 inches being about 1 inch deep . The plaque has Burns' Cottage Alloway Ayr incised at bottom left corner.
The back of the wall hanging is engraved Made In England, Osborne Copyright 1900. In very good condition with slight ware as to be expected with an item of this age, there is a flaw on one of the corners on the back not visible from front.
