The Lani Shades Makani collection includes the Makani Ka'ena and Makani Kaiwi styles, distinguished by the arm styles. The Makani Kaiwi is named after the channel between the islands of O'ahu and Molokai, where the inspiration for the perfect sunglasses for sailing in Hawaii was born. The Makani Kaiwi features wider arms for extra positive buoyancy as compared to the Makani Ka'ena.

Both the Makani Ka'ena and Makani Kaiwi are medium fit. The Makani Ka'ena tends to be a slightly tighter medium fit and the Makani Kaiwi tends to be a medium/large fit. 

Since the Makani Ka'ena has slimmer arms, they are only rated to float in salt water. Please choose the Makani Kaiwi if the floating feature is important to you.
