DJM Records (Dick James Music) was a British label, set up in 1969 by music publisher Dick James. It was initially distributed by Pye Records in the UK, then distribution changed to CBS Records in 1976. The most prominent act on DJM was Elton John with a number of hit albums before he left in 1976 to his own label, The Rocket Record Company. DJM Records was active until the early 1980s, about 1981 in the US, and 1984 in the UK. After Dick James' death in 1986, the DJM catalogue was acquired by PolyGram.
