Collagen is most prevalent protein in the human body. It can be found as a natural part in the construction of many different body parts, such as tendons, ligaments, joints muscles, skin and hair. Collagen can constitute approximately 30% of the total body protein mass, and as much as 75% of all skin protein. Already at the age of 25 the bodies ability to independently produce collagen decreases. Lower levels of collagen can lead to wrinkles being formed, as well as decreased skin elasticity.
