Rich in Ancient Berber symbolism, this
hand-knotted wool vintage Berber Moroccan rug features many traditional symbols
of protection, femininity and conception. This purple Beni Mguild rug is
heavily ornamented with diamond shapes, which represent a woman's openness to
conceive and the power of womanhood. Smaller diamonds, when housed inside of
larger diamonds, is known to predict a pregnancy. Some of the lozenges have
fused triangles symbolizing copulation. Two vertical borders composed of
alternating fused triangles, double x-shapes and ladder designs representing
the male's role in reproduction. Lacking a written language, the Berber Tribe
and Beni M'Guild weavers created pieces rich in symbolism and history to
