The Parker Vacumatic came in a huge range of styles and sizes, this Canadian made pen is a Junior dating to 1936.

The 1st generation of Vacumatics, this pen, featured a 'lockdown' filling arangement and double end 'jewels'.  The filler plunger is pushed in and given a twist to lock it in position which allows for a proportionately sized blind cap to be used, later versions had an elongated cap.

The 'split arrow' clip was introduced in 1936, the same year that the lockdown filler ended so the pen can accurately dated to that year.  A 'blue diamond was also added to the clip around rthe same time but, in 1947, the lifetime guarantee, signified by the diamond, was banned so the split arrow clip was reinststated.

The pen has been restored, tested, and is in excellent working condition.  The filling system works weel, and the 14Ct. Gold Parker nib, which is a replacement, writes with a smooth, fine to medium line.

The laminated finish consists of concentric rings of gold and dark brown colour.  The triple cap rings, used on the 'top line' pens, sets this off very well.  The barrel imprint is barely visible but the surface has a deep shine.  The Gold filling to the clip, cap rings, and end caps has held up very well.

The Parker Vacumatic is a very distinctive and attractive pen. first generation pens are not at all common and are very collectable.
