Note: As this is an antique item, it may have scratches, cracks, or chips.
Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE
Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, the patterns on these carnelian beads were created using a natron solution derived from plants. They were then baked at low temperatures between 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While such beads have been unearthed from archaeological sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, it is believed that they were originally produced in the Indus River basin and transported via land and sea routes.
