Will this fit my vehicle's shifter shaft?

This is a universal 50MM ball knob — it fits any manual or automatic shifter with a standard 50MM female adapter. If your car came with a different size (some cars run 45MM or 60MM), you'd need an adapter sleeve or a different knob.

Do I need to remove my old knob first?

Yes. Most knobs either unscrew or pull straight up — pull upward with steady pressure, or turn counterclockwise if threaded. Once off, thread or press this one on depending on how your shifter is set up.

Will the purple color fade or chip?

Polyurethane holds color well with normal interior use. High heat (dash mounted in direct sun for months) or heavy friction may dull it over time, but it won't peel like paint or cheap coatings would.
