Bach (1685-1750)
Description:
A musically fascinating effort to perform a duo version of the "Six Trio Sonatas" for organ by the great Bach in a duo version for viola and organ! The transcription was done in a manner similar to that of J.S. Bach, who reconstructed, arranged, and orchestrated works by Corelli, Vivaldi, Albinoni, and himself. The "Six Trio Sonatas" for viola and organ were not produced by Bach, and this recording is valuable from the perspective of expanding the repertoire for viola in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. Francesco Fiore teams up with Riccardo Doni, a master organist in the world of Italian old music. He is the principal viola of the Orquestra da Camera Italiana, and has also worked with the Accardo String Quartet. Tokyo M-Plus
