Sting
Description:
Sting made his major label debut with the Police, a band with a unique sound style. After seven years of worldwide success with this band, Sting began his career as a solo artist in 1985. His musical sound was even broader than that of the Police, and he gained a huge following and established a great status as a rock artist. This is a rare live archive of Sting's music, now available on CD! Sting's album "The Dream Of The Blue Turtles," which featured jazz musicians and proposed a new sound concept, was a worldwide success, surpassing that of the Police. With this success, Sting released "Nothing Like The Sun" in 1987. Nothing Like The Sun" sold even better than its predecessor. Upon its release, Sting embarked on a massive 170-show world tour in 1988, and in October of the same year, he visited Japan for a concert. The October 25 concert at Tokyo Dome was recorded and broadcast as a TV/FM special, and this live album is based on material from the FM broadcast. Featuring top jazz musicians Branford Marsalis and Kenny Kirkland, the band faithfully reproduces the sound of Sting's album in a more dynamic way, and the live performance is exactly what you would expect from Sting!
