This is a portable fragment of history, a recreation of the lost art of the Kucha Kingdom. Kucha was a vital oasis on the Silk Road, and its cave murals are a pinnacle of Central Asian art. This piece is a faithful replica, not just of the painting, but of the very wall it was painted on.

The tablet is built in four layers to authentically replicate the ancient fresco ground: a solid wood back, a layer of sand and stone, a structural layer of hemp mixed with mud, and a final gesso surface for the painting. The image itself is then rendered in mineral pigments, capturing the "Kucha splendor".

Each tablet is a finished, one-of-a-kind reproduction. As a limited-edition art piece, it will not be restocked once sold.
